Edinburgh continued to keep the pressure on until the end of the first half which finished 2-0 to the 2s – with both scorers having made their EUWAFC debut.
The second half seen Aberdeen pushing forward to try get back in the game. Good defending from Edinburgh made it hard for Aberdeen to break them down. Defender Katie McCabe made a good run and had a shot from distance that was held well by the Aberdeen keeper. The best chance for Edinburgh in the second half came after a brilliant run and cross from Freya Wilson down the right but Limberger’s header was sent wide. In the 80thminute Aberdeen gained a goal back after a corner. However, Edinburgh regrouped well and held Aberdeen until the final whistle.
