3s Win over QMU

On Wednesday 21st November, EUWAFC 3s headed down to their familiar Peffermill Playing Fields for what was in fact an 'away' match against fellow Edinburgh-based team, Queen Margaret University (QMU). The game started well for Edinburgh, as they dominated the game and applied pressure early, earning them 3 attacking corners in quick succession. Set pieces lacking, the 3s weren't able to meet the back of the net just yet. Around 15mins into the game, a great run down the line from captain Molly followed by a cross to the edge of the box meant that centre midfielder Helena was able to place Edinburgh in the lead, with a fantastic shot that went on to earn her POTM. The remainder of the game saw the 3s totally dominate QMU in terms of possession, in what became a frustrating game in which the score didn't accurately reflect the huge difference in playing quality between the 2 teams. Edinburgh's defence seemed impenetrable throughout the game, and the few shots made by QMU were confidently met by keeper Clotilde. Helena's early goal went on to be the only goal of the game, and despite Edinburgh winning a huge number of corners in the second half, they weren't able to boost the score. The 3s left Peffermill happy with their 3 points, if a little gutted not to increase their goal difference, and headed to the Peartree where the QMU girls joined them for food! All in all a good BUCS Wednesday for the 3s
